Marimar
This Mexican TV series was “Filipinized” by GMA Networks that made a lot of noise in Philippine television. This TV series ran for quite a time in the prime time and sure it was number 1. This was mainly starred by the hottest star, Marian Rivera and the drop-dead gorgeous hunk, Dingdong Dantes and was directed by award-winning directors, Joyce Bernal and Mac Alejandre. Many Filipinos supported this series and in fact, this became a part of their weeknights already. This TV series sure was phenomenal even if the story is quite predictable in the sense that this is based from that of the Mexican’s.
Marimar was also the TV series where Marian Rivera shines the brightest among other Philippine stars. Likewise, things have been very great with Dingdong Dantes also, right and after Marimar.
Marimar ranked high in its TV rankings and perhaps one of the most sensational Teleserye in the Philippines.

Synopsis:
Marimar is an adoptive granddaughter of Pancho and Cruz after seeing little Marimar on the shore and unconscious. Marimar’s adoptive parents treated her as their own but just cannot give her the luxuries of this world. Marimar grew old and beautiful but naive about her surroundings. Sergio is a well-known man in their town. He’s handsome, rich and gets everything that he wanted. He then have this gold-digger girlfriend, Angelika that she fell in love with only to end up broken because Angelika believes there’s more money if she marries Sergio’s father, Renato. Angelika and Renato did marry each other while Sergio was left wasted and alone. However, fate plays a big a part here and let Marimar and Sergio meet. Marimar then fell right then there with Sergio and desperately love Sergio. Sergio at first hand, asked Marimar for marriage because of pure revenge to his father and ex-girlfriend/step mother, Angelika.
Marimar suffered cruelty in the hands of Angelika and felt that Sergio does not love her at all. She then left the premises of his husband. Fortunately, she then knew that she is the heiress of everything that her father, Gustavo left behind. Since Marimar’s real family is rich and famous, she used this to transform herself into another personality hence, the up rise of Bea Aldama. Sergio, after Marimar left, realized that he loved his wife and would do anything possible just to find her but to no avail. Bea/Marimar comes back and is prepared to avenge herself form the people she thought took her for granted.
